2007 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. Jim & Nancy Jaeger brought Dave MacDonald's old 1963 Z06 Stingray.
Racingicons.com did an amazing job restoring Dave's famous 00 Stingray back to its original race-heritage. This is the first
1963 Z06 ever produced and now looks exactly how it did back on October 13th, 1962 when Dave MacDonald & Bill Thomas
(Cheetah creator) race-prepped the car for it's debut outing at Riverside Raceway. The race was a highly anticipated showdown
between America's two most iconic sports cars - the new Chevrolet Stingray and Carroll Shelby's Ford Cobra, also making its
debut. MacDonald and Cobra driver Billy Krause put on a wild show in the first hour of the race, exchanging the lead several
times as they pulled far away from the rest of the field. Both cars however bowed out with rear end failures. Photo Dave Wendt

'63 Z06 made and it has been beautifully restored and race trimmed in 1962 Dave MacDonald blue/white #00 livery.

Also on display at this event was Shelby King Cobra CM/3/63. This was Bob Holbert's King Cobra but Dave MacDonald
drove it once - a victory at the May 10, 1964 USRRC Championships at Kent Washington. This was Dave's last race before
his death 3 weeks later in the Indy 500.
CM/3/63 sold at auction that weekend for $935,000. Update: CM/3/63 sold again on 1/18/14 at Barrett-Jackson for $1.5M
